This is the new positioning for Yarra Valley Grammar (YVG). It was derived from the School’s strategic plan to create a powerful expression of their vision and philosophy.
The task for Tandem was to express this visually and in written communications. Following the development of a brand positioning strategy, we started with the design of a new School prospectus, using this as the vehicle to drive the new brand identity and communications direction. Actual quotes were sourced from teachers to give the positioning statement authenticity, and these, along with photographs of teachers interacting with students, would set the tone throughout the prospectus and advertising campaign.
Using a classic serif font for major headlines, a clean structured layout with lots of white space, created an overall look and feel in keeping with the desired image for the School. The clever play on the word ‘great’ throughout the written communication reinforces the positioning.
The result of this new identity has given the School a very strong and differentiated positioning. It is an excellent demonstration of how to maintain the integrity of an existing branding while taking it to another level.. See previous brand refresh…
